Delete your account – TopikQuest

TopikQuest (the app) lets you request deletion of your account and associated data. This page explains how to do that and what we delete or keep.
How to request account deletion
Follow these steps to request that your TopikQuest account and data are deleted:
- Open the TopikQuest app on your device (or use the same email you used to sign up).
- Go to Settings (gear icon) in the app.
- Tap “Delete my account” or “Request account deletion” (or the equivalent option in your app version).
- Alternatively, send an email to topikquest.app@gmail.com. In the email, state clearly that you want your account and associated data deleted, and include the email address you use to sign in to TopikQuest.
- We will process your request and confirm once your account and data have been deleted (see timing below).

Data we delete
When you request account deletion, we delete the following data associated with your account:
- Account: Your Firebase Authentication account (email, user ID, sign-in provider link).
- User document: Your profile and progress stored in our database (Firestore), including mastery level, XP, streak, unlocked levels, current level progress, inventory, gold, and any other fields in your user record.
- Session history: Any stored session or battle history under your account (e.g.
users/{userId}/history).
Data we may keep
We do not keep copies of your personal data after deletion. We may retain:
- Anonymized or aggregated data that cannot identify you (e.g. general usage statistics).
- Backups only for as long as necessary for operational or legal reasons (see retention below).
Retention and timing
We process deletion requests within 30 days of a valid request. After that, your account and the data listed above are removed from our active systems. Data in backups may persist for a short additional period (typically up to 60 days) before being overwritten; we do not use backup data to restore your account or identify you.
Third-party services
If you signed in with a third-party provider (e.g. Google), deleting your TopikQuest account does not delete your account with that provider. Ad networks (e.g. Google AdMob) may have collected device or usage data according to their own policies; we do not control that data. You can manage or reset advertising identifiers in your device settings.
